So I stoped at the liquor store.

So I decided to stop and get a bottle of tequila and some squirt for shots on the way home. There was a homeless guy outside asking for change and I rarely carry cash so I offered to buy him a drink. I asked vodka? Run? Tequila? Whiskey?….he said a pint of cheap whiskey, god bless.

So I get my shit, (tequila, marg mix, squirt, and my usually 30 rack of natty light) and look for a bottle for him when I spot it. Special for the month of February is Wild Turkey 101 for $22 and it was the last 750 left on the shelf…

I go outside and put my shit in the car and give him his bottle, I told him it was WT101 and he lit up 😂😂🤘🏻 old boy asked me if I wanted to get a pull and I said hell yes, so we chilled and drank a couple while talking.

I eventually asked him how long he’s been on the streets, he said he can’t remember exactly but prob around 25 years…seemed like a genuine dude. A lot of people nowadays (me included) are pretty much a couple missed paychecks away from being homeless. Anyways it was cool and I’d thought I’d share.

This is indeed an inspiring story. And true, you never know who is who on the street or what life event put them there. And someday it could be you on the street looking for someone's generosity. So it's always important to help out when you can.
Not trying to bash on homelessness but the dude in outside of a liquor store begging and getting drunk. I mean he is not even trying. Probably why he is homeless to begin with. I had to learn my lesson about these types. They will steal from you and do you dirty if they get a chance to profit.

Oh, that's a nice story... Thanks for helping out the homeless.

I was one time down in my downtown area. I had to go to an accounting dinner interview for the big 4 accounting firms.
They gave me a card pass to part my car in their fancy parking garage. I sat in the car in the parking garage for at least 1 hour before getting out and working a few blocks. I saw outside in the park thi was in the start of fall.

There was this guy that walked up to me asking if I can give him money. I gave him a $20. He thanked me and he looked homeless. However, when he smiled at me when he was thanking me. He said he will pay me back when he gets a chance. I told him don't worry about it.
I noticed when he was smiling ... his teeth was bleached white. It was very very clean. I have given homeless people money before and most smelled like shit and had yellow or decaying teeth.

After that whole encounter I now think it might been the FBI under cover watching me. The reason is that I have applied to the IRS and the FBI and they asked for permission to do a background on me including surveillance. I assume that they were undercover checking me.

I got the job for IRS but didn't accept the offer because I had to go to out of state for gun training. I wasn't into the whole thing on investigating criminals that evade tax.

Really nice story man, to be honest I don't pay that much attention to homeless people now. I used to see a lot when I was working in Paris, at the beginning I used to give them 1 or 2 euros, but they immediately said : "Don't you have 10€ instead ????", bro, you're homeless, I could give nothing. And most of the time they were disrepesctful, so I stopped. Most of people in Paris avoid them to be honest. Besides a lot of homeless people in Paris are immigrants, and I pay enough money in taxes that already help them. But it's like an endless scheme, the more you give them, the more they spend and want, and they never try to get back on their feet, even if there are A LOOOOOOOOT of social help in France (remember that we're one of the most taxed country in the world).

However I know that there are kind people living in the street, and unfortunately we don't see a lot of them because they use to live "hidden", to not disturb other people or maybe because some of them are ashamed, I think.

There are few scandales in France regarding homeless people because immigrants homeless are priority compared to french citizen homeless. For example, a lot of association don't give food to french citizen homeless, instead they explicitly say to help immigrants instead. That's disgusting. Thanks to the left and the wokes.
He's outside a liquor store, clearly an alcoholic, and could assume it could be what drove him to this situation.

Not sure if enabling it was the correct choice but nice story all the same!

I knew this comment was coming at some point but….I’m an alcoholic….🤷🏼‍♂️🙄 if I was homeless Id do the same thing…I don’t blame him at all. I would be grateful someone bought me a bottle. We are all human and some of us are more susceptible to vices than others.

I could have said “fuck you ya drunk, go get a job” which I would have regretted and prob would have went home and got blackout drunk because I would hate myself for it. Instead I choose to give the man some attention, and the respect he deserves and prob doesn’t get often. Idk just my opinion I guess.
You are a kind soul. <3
