Crypto Widget Development

Couldn't find a Crypto widget to do what I wanted. The ability to customize. So I'm making my own.

Let me know of any other features to add.

The feedback I've gotten so far:
  • Ability to change US/$ currency type.

  • Option to change Graph to reflect crypto other than BTC (This may have limitations with some APIs, will have to look into it).

  • Change Font Color.

  • Color Code Indicator whether price is higher or lower than opening session price.

  • Add option for Price Alerts

  • More API options (Already have 3 options on there. I don't think I need to add more.)

  • Mac OS version

Working with Different Providers Gemini/Binance:

(If you reside in the US; the only way to use Binance API, is to use a VPN.)

Different types of graph support would be nice. You should also show the current transaction fees for BTC and other cryptocurrencies.

I'll definitely look into adding more graphs!

I did some research on trying to view Transactions fees. It seems this would be user specific according to the Gemini API. In the sense that the user would need to create their own account and have their own API key to import into the Widget. Sadly it does not seem like I could just get a transaction fee of a crypto currency through their public API. It's not offered since it is specific. However, I do really like that idea.

"Additionally, Gemini's API allows users to retrieve their trade volume, which can be useful for calculating fees. While the API may not directly provide the current transaction fees for BTC and other cryptocurrencies, you can implement a function that calculates your fee based on the amount traded and the fee that corresponds to your volume."

It is possible that I could drill into that feature more in the future. Maybe have a settings for users to import their API keys. Seeing that it would be pretty useful/cool.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm talking about actual blockchain gas fees for bitcoin not the exchanges fees.

My fault. I misunderstood. In that case that seems a lot more doable! Mempool, Blockstream, and a few others have open API's for that I believe only downside is that it looks like they only support BTC..
Will leave this here if anyone else wants to check it out: https://mempool.space/docs/api/rest

Either way seems easy enough to implement.

Using Mempools API for BTC fees worked out well. Obviously I could clean it up a and use better abbreviation/layout. I will do that later.
Good request. Thank you.

Little more progress today (messing with this in my free time)

Request added to track Specific coins on the graph along with their all time high.

changes for tracking specific coins. (BTC in picture example).
Will show how much Price has gone up and down since the current session.
Added the option to use Color indicator as well if it goes Negative, Display goes red, positive brings it back to normal.
Can also display 52 week low and 24 hour High.
