Quote:Elon Musk has said he would consider giving American taxpayers a payout from DOGE savings.
The Tesla CEO responded to a proposal on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting a 'DOGE Dividend.'
In other words, Musk would give Americans a $5,000 tax refund check using savings from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The idea was pitched by James Fishback, CEO of Azoria and an outside adviser to DOGE. Fishback is also an outspoken supporter of Trump and Musk and posted the idea on X.
He posted on X: "President Trump and @ElonMusk should announce a ‘DOGE Dividend’—a tax refund check sent to every taxpayer, funded exclusively with a portion of the total savings delivered by DOGE."
The CEO also attached a pretty in-depth PDF that he titled 'The case for a DOGE Dividend.'

Hell yeah they have already uncovered over 100 billion dollars of savings and growing. Not to mention over ten million people over the age of 100 are receiving social security.

Elon Musk had better not be giving out any of the government's money, especially not to the tune of ~$750 billion. Even with $100 billion in savings and a credit freeze, the deficit for this year so far is still greater than all of last year.

The SSA certainly has poor record-keeping, but those people, by-and-large, are not receiving benefits.

More than 10 million people over the age of 100 are not receiving social security.

I guess they finally closed the SS family member scam. They just never report their family members death and collect their checks. Common practice for scum bags.

Not without going through Congress.

Only 44,000 of those people are collecting benefits. Many of the dead people have had their identities stolen by 'undocumented migrants' who are paying taxes and not collecting Social Security. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/retireme...ticle_link

Thanks for clearing that up.

Would be great if true (I'm not a US citizen), although I'm afraid these are just words and much like many promises from politicians are said just to gain support

Well it's 50/50 since Trump did already give out multiple stimulus checks in the past.

Yup it's 50/50, it'll either happen or it won't haha
I believe Trump did two stimulus checks, and Biden did one after? Those were all to help recovery after COVID, whereas this would be a people's tax rebate- great idea and hopefully can become a regular thing for US Citizens

It is literally just nonsense it will not happen, DOGE has saved nowhere near enough to provide every taxpayer $5,000.
Additionally the debt is continuing to skyrocket.
Just words to get MAGA jumping up and down praising shit they wont get.

Incorrect, stimulus checks were set up by congress he had nothing to do with actually creating the package, all Trump did was demand that his name be on the check and he signed the bill.
Biden on the other hand did not demand his name be on the check because that is the job of the US treasury and Biden signed the bill to get the money out as quick as possible.
