Hey everyone, I’ve seen a lot of people asking how to stay anonymous online, so I decided to put together a quick guide for beginners. If you’re just starting out and want to keep your identity hidden, here are some essential steps:
1. Use a Secure Browser
• Tor Browser (Best for anonymity, but slow)
• Brave Browser (Good balance of privacy & speed)
• Firefox (If configured properly with privacy extensions)
2. Get a VPN
• Use a no-log VPN like Mullvad, ProtonVPN, or [censored]
• Avoid free VPNs – they usually log your data
• Never use a VPN with your real personal info
3. Use Temporary Emails & Aliases
• ProtonMail for secure, encrypted email
• Temp Mail, Guerilla Mail for one-time use
• Never sign up with your real email
4. Encrypt Your Messages
• Use Signal or Session instead of regular SMS
• Enable end-to-end encryption on all chats
5. Avoid Google & Social Media
• Use DuckDuckGo or Startpage instead of Google
• Delete or limit your social media presence
• Don’t post personal info anywhere
6. Use a Virtual Machine (VM) or Live OS
• Run Tails OS or Whonix for extra security
• Use a Virtual Machine (VMware/VirtualBox) to sandbox risky activities
7. Disable Tracking & Fingerprinting
• Use uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and NoScript
• Disable WebRTC, JavaScript, and browser fingerprinting
This is just the basics, but it should help keep you off the radar. If you have any other tips, drop them below!
Stay safe,
