Here's a quick breakdown of the pros and cons of each, and we can explore whichever angle you're most interested in:

🖥️ PC Gaming
Pros:

Best graphics/performance (especially with a high-end setup)

Huge game library (Steam, Epic, mods, etc.)

Customization & upgrades

Keyboard/mouse precision (great for shooters, RTS)

Cons:

Expensive upfront cost

Maintenance/technical knowledge needed

Not as “plug-and-play” as consoles

🎮 Console Gaming (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch)
Pros:

Easy to set up and use

Exclusive games (e.g. God of War, Halo, Zelda)

Couch co-op and big-screen gaming

Consistent performance (no hardware tweaking)

Cons:

Locked hardware (no upgrades)

Fewer customization options

Online services often cost money

📱 Mobile Gaming
Pros:

Ultra accessible (almost everyone has a phone)

Free-to-play games everywhere

Great for casual/quick gaming

Portable beyond even handheld consoles

Cons:

Limited by hardware and screen size

Lots of ads and pay-to-win mechanics

Hardcore games can feel clunky without controllers

These days I'm just relying on my console as I hate dealing with PC issues
Sold my console twords a mid-high range gaming PC and i knew it was the best choice for me. I Was tired of being lied to about 120fps+ on Series X when it a lot of times struggled to maintain a stable 60. I Ran into an annoying issue with my power supply later on but was able to get fixed, besides that it's treated me well so far. The ability to customize anything is a game changer. Being able to mod basically any game, the list goes on. There can be serious complicated issues that arise like with any other computer but if you're able to sort stuff like that out then i think people will be happier with that choice depending on what type of gamer you are.
I personally started out as a heavy PC gamer. Now 20 years later I do have to say that my main PC is gathering dust and I have switched to a PS5. It's easier to get some time in (if I have any time at all)

The plug & play is great (besides the sometimes major updates for games). What I like the most is the fact that the hardware is ready to go for the new games that gets released instead of on my PC I would often have to lower settings down or WAY down to even be able to play them a bit decently.

I do also play on my phone, yes in a P2W setting xP
It's nice to be able to game a bit when you are waiting for everything in life.
