Is the blackhat hackers job harder nowadays or is the ethical cybersecurity guys jobs harder?
I personally think its the legit cyber guy, he actually has a boss to report to and certain pressures to succeed at his job or he gets fired.
Agree that defending the white side is harder nowdays , the hackers and their methods is more complicated every day

The best and the worst job ever 🤣
You have to know EVERYTHING and the pressure on you shoulders are definitively insane ^^
I'd definitely agree that it's the straight arrow guy that's life and job is harder. Just because he has so many more rules and ethics to consider and follow.

Ethical cybersecurity is, without a doubt, more demanding. Blackhat criminals only have to answer to law enforcement if or when they are arrested.
Getting fired is easier in the U.S., where unions are weaker. In the EU, it's quite difficult to fire employees.
I would say blackhat just because of the upcoming AI tech that is going to make it a lot harder
Itll be AI vs AI soon anyway. Skill = Equal. Pressure from management/clients will be the tipping point on this scale.

Depends who this guy is working for I guess. Big businesses are going to have the upper hand with AI because it is expensive to keep up with their technology, unless you are a state sponsored attacker. Then again the bad guys only need to succeed once and people are always going to be the weakness. Although not entirely related just look at the Pete Hegseth (SecDef) case on the news.

It's the blackhat guys.
He isn't getting paid and there's a probablity that he will fail therefore making 0 or sometimes - money.
So, adding the stress factors of getting caught, losing money, etc. the blackhat guys' job is the harder one.

Depends on how you look at it and what you actually mean by the question.
Blackhat will always have a hard time keeping a clean trail, one slip up and it could expose them forever. They definitely have the easier potential for income compared to white hat though.
Whitehat will have to sift and sift for ages and with one flaw in their system they will also be exposable to the other side. One slip up and someone else can take over their full system.
Maybe another way to look at it is that more blackhats are self employed or self motivated than whitehats and that in itself is more forgiving or easier mentally.
