For 99% of applications brute forcing is dead. Steam is definitely one of them.

What do you mean? Brute force a PW of an account?

Most of platforms now have brute-force protection, few examples : Hashed Password protection : KDFs (Key Derivation Functions) – e.g., bcrypt, scrypt, PBKDF2, Argon2 (slow down brute force by design) Salting – adds uniqueness to hashes, prevents rainbow table attacks Peppering – adds a secret value to the password before hashing (not stored in DB) Key stretching Web & Application-Level Protections Account Lockout – temporarily lock account after N failed attempts Rate Limiting – limit login attempts per minute/hour Captcha – require user interaction to block bots Progressive Delay – increasing wait time after each failed attempt IP Blacklisting / Banning – deny access from known malicious IPs Geo-blocking – restrict access to certain regions User Agent Filtering – block suspicious clients MFA - Multi Factor Authentication (SMS, app, email, ...) With an optimal config it should be good to hack random accounts, but if you want to hack a specific steam account, openbullet it's not what you are looking for. |
