I have a Dell Lattitude 3190 and i cannot reset it because the USB ports are disabled from the bios. I tried bios-pw generator but it did not work. I also have no login capabilities right now when its fully booted. Any way to completely factory reset or unlock the bios? Thank you

Thank you I tried hacking a BIOS on a free laptop that I got a few years ago. After some poking the laptop stopped powering up. If there's no master password that you can find, and you can't clear the CMOS by removing the battery, well, how are you with a soldering iron?
If you're trying to reset the BIOS password on your Dell Latitude 3190 and the usual tools haven't worked, one method you can try is removing the CMOS battery inside the laptop. This battery is what keeps the BIOS settings saved even when the laptop is turned off. By disconnecting it, you're basically trying to wipe the memory that stores the BIOS password. To do this, first make sure the laptop is completely powered off and unplugged. If the battery is removable, take that out too (though in this model, it's likely built-in). Next, carefully remove the screws on the back panel of the laptop and take off the cover. Look for a small round silver battery – it might be directly on the board or connected with a little cable. Once you find it, disconnect it gently and leave it out for about 10 minutes. Some people also press and hold the power button for 30 seconds while it's out to make sure all the electricity is drained. After that, reconnect the battery, close the laptop back up, and power it on. With luck, the BIOS will be reset and the password will be gone. Just keep in mind that on newer Dell laptops, the password is often stored in a special chip that this method won’t affect – but it’s worth trying before moving on to more advanced steps.

Thank you Unscrew the SSD, install Windows on another device, and you have a clean Windows without ports. Dell makes it harder to bypass the BIOS nowadays, even taking the CMOS off won't work on the newer models. Newer machines store the BIOS password in flash memory, and your options are limited Disconnecting the CMOS/coin-cell battery is definitely worth trying. That makes sense. Don't know what you could do about that. |
