Script Kiddies - learning pathways

Hey,

I've heard that some successful hackers have started out as script kiddies. Does anyone know if this is true?
The earlier you start, the better it is (like in any field). That said, some people started early but don’t have the same cognitive abilities as others who began later.

Starting early gives an advantage, but it doesn’t mean everything — there are many factors to consider. And sometimes, you don’t need to be the best hacker; you just need to find the right vulnerable system at the right time, with the right person between the chair and the keyboard...

Agree with this. Most prominent hackers were once script kiddies too and had to start somewhere. Not everyone was gifted at this, but had to learn, adapt, and create new skills to get to where they are (although some of dead are either dead or behind bars).

Personally, I think acknowledging that you start out new and have to learn and improve your skills will always be leagues above other Script Kiddies who believe they're hot shit because they downloaded the latest tool or bought the best XYZ without really knowing or learning the how, why, and what behind it.
