Sometimes this forum makes me sad

I wrote up what I thought was a really cool guide on bypassing SmartScreen using DLL hijacking and posted it on Blackhat Training: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6301770. It got 90 views and 3 replies - barely anything. Around the same time someone else posted the thread 'Dont be a skid' with its body only consisting of 'Hi guys please don’t be a skid': https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6299769. And it got 161 views and 4 replies. On the "Blackhat Training" subforum, mind you. So what's the point of making quality posts if it gets no traction?
You also posted in that thread, so you're technically part of that problem.

I wouldn't use views as a barometer for validation. The people you help even if it's only one are more important than the thousand that didn't need the help in the first place.

In marketing, your job is not to sell to the masses but the specific person that wants that product.

Just focus on what you're doing, someone appreciates it. Forget everybody else.

Validation. That's the word I was looking for. I like validation.
I get the frustration about creating higher quality threads and tutorials, but not getting the audience you were hoping for. I enjoy creating in-depth threads that bring value. Even if they don’t get a lot of feedback on it, people still notice. It’s more about your personal pride and self-value. I’d rather be known for bringing something positive to the community than someone who just spam posts all the time.
Staff will never reach out to you off-site. We only communicate on HF.
The person who needs to bypass SmartScreen or, um, research it will be appreciative. It's just that the majority of reactions will be "Oh, nice. I already know that." Or "That's too technical."

It's a very specific topic, and the target audience in this forum is minimal especially towards higher end technical content. However i just read through the tutorial, and it's definitely something i would bookmark to replicate later/study later. Some threads are valuable for years as a POC which later becomes a project or even a monetized project, and then someone calls out the seller for using a public source code/idea.

Either way, its good knowledge to share and appreciated by the few.
I wouldn't let that discourage you from posting threads in the future. A higher view count for a thread isn't necessarily a good thing.

I'm surprised that other thread you linked hasn't been closed. We don't want that kind of content as it attracts low quality posts.
Remember people are always lurking and guests coming in off of search engines etc. I suggest you create your own website if you want such attention.

I'm sorry that your thread didn't gain the traction you were hoping. A lot of people seem to be here just for the community aspect and aren't actively "hacking" anything. Many are also here just to make money, and that usually isn't through "hacking" either. If people want to make illegal money there are forums better suited to condoning illegal behavior. (and teaching/tutoring it)
