Hobby or Skill you have always wanted to pick up but never did?

Maybe it’s learning to play guitar, cooking gourmet meals, or even something wild like skydiving or coding your own game. What’s been holding you back? Time, money, or just life getting in the way?

Honestly, I have quite a few things I have always wanted to learn. Young children, a wife, and full-time career make my life so incredibly busy. It's almost impossible to have free time without cutting into my sleep time.

Violin and Cello, really, they seems like the most beautiful instruments but hardest to learn and play.

How much does a good violin cost? A good violin for a beginner costs about $500. A good intermediate violin will cost $1,000-2,000 while a good violin for a professional violinist may cost anything between $5,000 and $50,000.

$1250-$2000+++ Cello Price Range

Quote:Lindsey Stirling uses two main violins for her performances: a Yamaha SV-250 Silent Violin Pro and a Luis and Clark "Nero" carbon fiber acoustic violin. The Yamaha electric violin has been in use since 2000, while the Luis and Clark violin gained fame after its use in her "Radioactive" cover with Pentatonix in 2013. The Yamaha violin is worth around $2,000 - $3,000, while the Luis and Clark violin is valued at approximately $5,000, according to some violin retailers.

I think your probably spot on with the violin being the most beautiful instrument.
I remember when Lindsey Sterling got really popular a decade or so ago.

Funny story, there's a local scam in my area, where people will stand on corners of grocery stores or convenient stores with a violin and play violin music through a hidden speaker while pretending to play themselves to try and make tips.
They are really convincing too.

I wanted to learn dancing & swimming but dint got any chance to learn it. I still regret it, I'm at a point in my life where chasing these skills would be abit tricky also not sure if my body will be supportive enough

Being older trying to learn a new skill is definitely demotivating when you're seeing younger kids that are miles ahead of you and when your body doesn't want to bend like it used too.

Well, you're on the right track to achieving your goals! That's more than a lot of people can say.

GENIUS lmao

At least they are providing entertainment, not just holding some cardboard sign.

I have a drum machine / beat machine that can do full songs. I thought of maybe taking it downtown and see if I could get TIPS with it. The machine runs on batteries too! All I would need is a lithium battery rechargeable speaker + a stockpile of AA batteries for the beat machine. You can even plug a mic into the beat machine and let people rap battle for a small fee!

This is what I have below:

Honestly, there are many hobbies I want to learn, like game programming,
but the problem is that I don’t have any ideas for a game.

Yeah I mean, I sort of respect the hustle. But would respect it a lot more if they were actually playing the Violin.
I used to have one of those little beat making apps on my phone, it was a good time killer but quite limited on what it could do.

Not all ideas generated by AI are actually helpful or practical, you know. Sometimes they miss the mark or don’t fit what you really need

It was actually meant at a sarcastic jab at AI. Of course, human creation as of right now at least, can't be replicated. They aren't quite sentient enough to brainstorm like we can.

Imagine if I actually create a game and it becomes a hit, that would be something
I've always wished I could play an instrument. Maybe the piano or guitar.

I can play the violin a little from being forced to take it when I was a kid. This gets listened to pretty frequently.
