So... here's something kind of surreal.
BlackRock, yeah, that BlackRock, the $10-trillion asset-management juggernaut, might hit $100 billion in Bitcoin exposure by the end of this month. Through a single ETF.
Let that sink in.
It’s called IBIT, and it’s not just doing well, it’s breaking records. Fastest-growing ETF in the firm’s entire history. Already holding over 700,000 BTC, which is, what, about 3.6% of the entire circulating supply?
If you’re into crypto even slightly, that number should rattle something in your brain.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this level of institutional hunger. Not so soon. Sure, ETFs were hyped, and yeah, BlackRock entering the scene gave everything a massive legitimacy boost... but this? $1 billion in a single day? That’s not just FOMO, that’s coordinated capital flowing like it knows something.
And maybe it does.
July 11 saw a monster inflow. Bitcoin had a strong week, too. Classic feedback loop. You know how it goes, price goes up, confidence goes up, inflows spike, and suddenly you're riding a momentum train with no brakes. Bloomberg's analysts (Eric Balchunas, to be specific) now think this ETF hits $100B this month, not “sometime late summer” like they originally guessed.
Funny how the timeline always accelerates once money starts moving.

Now here's where I pause.
Because yeah, it's exciting... but it also makes me a bit uneasy. We spent years building this ecosystem on decentralization and individual control, and now, in 2025, the biggest player in crypto is a traditional Wall Street firm hoarding BTC like it’s Pokémon cards.
I mean, I get it. Exposure through an ETF is safe, liquid, tax-efficient. It’s easy for institutions. But it feels like the pendulum has swung pretty far from what Bitcoin was supposed to be. Not bad, necessarily. Just... different.
That said, IBIT’s success is opening the door. Ethereum ETFs are getting some love, too, saw $900 million in new inflows recently. And there’s chatter about Solana and others following suit. So maybe we’re watching the beginning of a very “normalized” crypto market.
One where retail dreams it, crypto builds it, and Wall Street scales it.
Good? Bad? I don’t know. Both, maybe.
But one thing’s clear, BlackRock isn’t playing around. And if this ETF does hit $100B in July, which looks more likely by the day, that’s not just a crypto milestone. That’s a financial milestone, period.
So yeah. Just wanted to throw this out there.
We're watching history happen... again.
