Cookies are credentials!

What can you do with a stolen browser cookie?

Everything:

Log in to Gmail, Office365, Slack, etc.

Skip MFA

Stay invisible (no failed logins)

Maintain access long after user changes password

Cookies are credentials.

Treat them like gold.
Changing password should invalidate all sessions.
Many cookies are session based so make sure to utilise them quickly

Stolen cookies can grant access to active sessions, but they have limits, they may expire, be tied to specific devices or IPs, and can't access encrypted chats or non-web services. If the user logs out or the session is revoked, the cookie becomes useless.
