Hello everybody!

Can any current pentesters out there point me in the right direction to gain more knowledge in pentesting (I have the basic knowledge and Comptia Pentest+ cert). I'm currently on a path to learn Pentesting so I can apply for positions in my current job (I am a Cyber Security Analyst 5 years experience)


One last thing do Pentesters have like a "Cheat Sheet" that they would go to each time they Pentest? (Obviously different Pentests require different methods depending on what you are pentesting)

have you done any pentesting yet?
i heard comptia pentest+ is decent but comptia usually gives you general knowledge which kinda sucks

if youre in a corporate environment, TCM has good certs that give you some good AD knowledge. from there you might figure out what you want to focus on

tryhackme and hackthebox are two big ones for learning
thm is great for n00bs where you can do really easy CTF boxes and then lots of walkthroughs and even learning paths which helps if you feel like you need some direction
htb is next once you get some experience. easy boxes are a lot harder than you think if youre new to cybersec
try the starting point for htb to get some good experience

cheatsheets exist once you find out what you need it for, just search it out when youre ready
