Hey everyone,
I'm experimenting with a chess assistant called ChessBotX (chess-bot [dot] com) and I'm currently using the demo version, which has some restrictions like a move limit and forced closure after a few uses.
I'd like to fully unlock the software by removing these restrictions — mainly the trial checks and license validation. I'm still new to reverse engineering, but I want to learn how to patch this type of protection manually (no crack downloads — I want to do the work myself).
If anyone is familiar with trial bypassing, hardware ID checks, or general software patching techniques, I’d really appreciate some tips, examples, or guidance on how to proceed with this binary.
Here are the links (obfuscated):
- Demo version: hxxps://chess-bot[dot]com/
- Full version: hxxps://chess-bot[dot]com/download.html
Goal: disable all limitations and keep it running as if it's licensed.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me understand how to approach this! [warn]
