Over the years, Roblox has faced ongoing issues with pedophiles and groomers on their platform. The problem has become so severe that it has made national headlines. While Roblox claims to prioritize child safety, recent events raise concerns. YouTubers Schlep and Jidion recently caught five predators on Roblox and posted their findings on YouTube. Instead of praising them for helping to keep the platform safe, Roblox banned all of Schlep’s accounts and sent both creators a letter threatening to sue them for “violating Roblox’s terms of service.” These actions, combined with Roblox’s recent introduction of a dating feature, lead me to question whether the company is truly committed to protecting children.

It has gotten so bad it made news headlines around, but yet Roblox claims to try to help kids, but just recently a YouTube going by the name schlep and jidion have caught 5 predator on Roblox and posted there catching on YouTube but instead of Roblox, praising them for helping keeping their platform safe Roblox has banned all schlep Roblox accounts and sent him a letter saying they’re going to sue him and jidion for “violating Roblox terms of service” and their claims are stupid, which makes me think that Roblox is supporting pedophiles because Roblox has introduced a dating service on their platform. That’s seriously messed up. Instead of working with people who are actually exposing predators, Roblox is shutting them down and threatening them? That just makes it look like they care more about protecting their image than protecting kids. Adding a dating feature on top of all this feels like pouring gasoline on the fire. ![]() (Aug 12, 2025 07:16 AM)thatcyplex34 Wrote: My original text was not clean so I kind of gave it to ChatGPT to fix it up so that’s why I kinda looks like that I wanted to make a post about this with a professional looking text It's OK bud. Only teasing you. I know though, it's gross. Hasn't this gone on with Roblox for years though? Anyway, idk too much about Roblox's legal department's capacity but I think some people raise a reasonable cause of concern such as yourself. With this being said, take into consideration that this can also be intertwined with other games and applications of a similar nature. I was talking to some chick in her 30's when I was on WoW as a child for example, haha. Anyway, I am interested to hear what others think. I thought they would've handled a lot of this by now given the amount of children who use the game but they will likely try to use the fact that they (correct me if wrong) enforce the mandated age of birth entry when creating an account since you interact with other people, no? That and the fact that the games are never ending, making them never get the feeling of completion causing them to want to play more and more and more. Yeah, that’s a big one. Those endless loops are designed to keep them hooked, and without a real “finish line” it’s easy for kids to lose track of time. Good call pulling them away from it. ![]()
This is a problem internet wide, and Roblox does a better job than most. It really comes down to bad parenting, I'm pretty sure you can restrict accounts to prevent chatting with anyone including friends. There are a lot of parental controls are available, as I said, it's just bad parenting.

Unfortunately most of these online communities have this issue.
Minecraft is no different. (Aug 12, 2025 07:20 AM)Tyr Wrote: I was talking to some chick in her 30's when I was on WoW as a child for example, haha. They protect pedophilia and are trying to cease and desist anyone trying to speak up about it, the game is literally lolita heaven, it's disgusting. While yes it is a internet wide problem, Roblox are DEFINITELY not doing a better job than most, they are protecting pedophiles because their game is hugely popular and profitable. They've implemented tools like an open-source AI system to detect grooming in chats, and their moderation teams ban accounts daily. From what I understand their CEO has even stated that parents uncomfortable with the risks shouldn't allow their kids to play. However, many experts and lawsuits argue these efforts fall short, and Roblox isn't leading the industry compared to other platforms. Ultimately, this is a parenting issue. If parents don't let their children use the internet unsupervised, these problems would be less likely to occur. To be clear, I don't care about Roblox or the YouTubers covering these issues just for views and a paycheck. But seeing people such as yourself who watch their favourite content creator cover a topic then insists on jumping on the bandwagon of saying a company is protecting pedophiles is fucking absurd. I'm sorry but listen to yourself, you're saying I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but yet quoting unknown "experts" I mean really? Blaming this purely on a parenting issue is wild and unbased, yes parents need to take more responsibility, but this is not a parenting issue. You clearly spent no time watching the video at all, in which btw he's watching another Robloxer who played the game all his life, and was groomed on there at a young age. Also, the fact that you insult me for pointing out something like this, kinda shows that maybe I hit a nerve, outing yourself much? Why you don't mention Discord, Omegle and all the other platforms including various chatrooms which have the same severe issue? Roblox is top of the agenda due to how vast and popular the game is especially with a targeted audience for children. Tools are available to protect your child whilst online, parents choose not to use them. I just dislike how you worded "protecting pedophiles" because a guy was banned for breaching ToS. You are right, I didn't watch the entire video because I don't want to hear a political streamer giving his take on the matter. I bet you soaked up both of the videos like your life depended on it. |
