$300M Coinbase Hacker Just Went Full ETH Again…Seriously
Okay, I just…can’t stop thinking about this. So apparently the wallet tied to that $300 million Coinbase hack just bought almost 4,000 ETH. That’s like $18.9 million. In one swoop. Like, what? Who does that?
And it wasn’t some impulse thing either. They spent weeks moving DAI around, like little piles, 80k here, 6 mil there, before dumping it all on ETH. It’s almost surgical. Almost elegant. I hate saying that because it’s stolen money, but…you gotta respect the logistics.
And the timing. ETH just nudged past $4,700. Perfectly timed, right? Did they get "lucky"?Or are they simply "crazy, brave", or some mix of the two? I don’t know. I keep "flipping" between "admiration and absolute horror". Also, do hackers even sleep? Or are they just staring at charts at 3 a.m. like the rest of us poor mortals?

What’s nuts is the pattern.
This wallet isn’t a one-time thing. Last month it bought $8 million in Solana. Didn’t exactly work out, SOL’s below the entry price now. And before that, multiple ETH buys, tens of millions at a time, always scaling, always moving. It’s like watching someone play 4D chess while you’re stuck on checkers.
And shoutout to the onchain sleuths like ZachXBT. The guy’s tracking this stuff in real time, it’s insane. He estimates the original scam pulled at least $330 million, and that’s just what’s visible. I mean, I can barely keep track of my own trades, and here someone is orchestrating hundreds of millions. My brain can’t even process that.
But also…what’s it like to be them? To move hundreds of millions and know everyone’s watching your wallet? I imagine it’s like gambling but on steroids. Every tick of ETH must feel like a punch in the chest or a little victory. And yet, the people who lost that money? Their lives turned all upside down. So it’s both "exciting" and depressing, and I honestly can’t tell if I’m "jealous" (all that money xD) or just scared.

Meanwhile, the market keeps doing its thing.
ETH pops past 4,700. Some ETF inflows hit $216 million. Traders on Hyperliquid are turning $125k into millions.
I don’t know. If there’s a takeaway here (and maybe there isn’t), it’s that crypto is still this chaotic mix of timing, nerve, and…luck? Maybe just nerve. Or maybe the takeaway is: watch this hacker wallet. Because the audacity, the timing, the scale, it’s mesmerizing in this horrifying, can’t-look-away way.
Anyone else watching this wallet like it’s a live action movie? Or am I the only one getting this weird thrill watching $18.9 million of stolen money hop onto ETH at a local peak? Every time I look at it I question what “smart investing” even means. And honestly, part of me wonders if that’s the point.
