Quantum investment returns

Quantum technology already has proven applications and a number of industries are moving quickly in this space.

I'm excited by GPS applications in the military, but also for safer consumer vehicles and technology. Quantum sensors are pretty nifty.

Magnets and recent research is very exciting.

Lone spinons. Too much to get into here, but this was recently proved and it should have a ripple effect across international research efforts.

Biological qubits - Very new, but also extremely exciting (limited proofs currently).

The general computing power is obviously exciting, but I think most people know about that.

This is not financial advice:

Buy the fucking quantum stocks, I'm not selling anytime soon - I could care less if it goes 5X this year, that's literally nothing in this space.

here are some companies you may not have heard about (NASDAQ stock tickers):

5 day gains:
- IONQ: 48%
- QBTS: 40%
- RGTI: 36%
- QUBT: 15%

6 month gains:
- IONQ: 162%
- QBTS: 101% (134% on YTD)
- RGTI: 97%
- QUBT: 120%
I don't like buy when its highest price in lifetime xd But i get it, a lot of money is coming that way currently so i am setting it incase of drop il join u nodes !

Ah, you missed a good buying opportunity last few weeks.
I will continue to buy more, I do not think we are anywhere even remotely close to the top of this - at all.

Quantum GPS for example provides the ability for a craft to auto-adjust itself and understand its positioning, based on several factors such as the magnetic field strength of earth.

> This will require an overhaul of every serious military vehicle in the future. Once quantum GPS is accomplished for the majority of our vehicle fleets, other countries will need to upgrade as well.

> The reason is because you can jam traditional GPS quite easily, and it needs to be adjusted daily to account for pole movements.

> Quantum GPS doesn't rely on satellites, it relies on its own self-managed sensors. You can't jam a quantum-GPS drone or ICBM nearly as easily.

> There are a number of public companies that already have contracts with DOD, DOE, and others to work on this. It's coming, and it's coming extremely soon.

That's just one example. Another example would be with quantum-safe encryption.

Even if you don't need a quantum computer to be quantum-safe, we will reach a point where classical computers simply cannot keep up with the output of quantum computers. In a time where recursive AI/LLM tech is taking off and crypto proof of work remains viable, it will be a race to the ticket line for cloud-based quantum computing, and eventually consumer computers with their own qubits (we're not there yet by any means).

The difference in capabilities is vast enough where it would be like comparing cavemen to 2025 nerds - Incomparable. The raw compute of quantum will lead most of the world to upgrading devices over time. With the recursion in LLM research, machine learning, and similar systems, we can expect to see exponential or near-compounding advancements in capabilities and new discoveries.

I could keep going, but my point is this.... Do not wait for too long.

There are many, many pressures on this industry (and others) to solve computing efficiencies, natural sensors, and also new use cases that are not possible with classical computers by any means.
Understood. What is your thoughts about "ASML".

Quantum computers need classical chips (CMOS) to control and read out qubits.
These are still made using traditional semiconductor tools — where ASML machines are essential.

Future quantum systems (e.g., with superconducting or silicon spin qubits) may require integrated quantum-classical chips.
ASML could play a role via: Lithography for control chips

And ASML is only one company who can produce that high level product, so if quantum stocks go up that one must go up as well or not ?

Put it this way, my family bought a lot of ASML in the early 2000s and throughout 2010-2020+.
It's looking very, very pretty :)

I am a strong supporter of ASML and agree that it all plays into each other.

I've bought into a few different but very related industries along the manufacturing line, related components, sensors (non quantum too), etc.

Another one:

Keep your eyes on the ticker FEIM.
It has been nice to me since I bought in this summer, and I expect it to continue to grow.
putting speculation and returns aside, google and IBM are probably the closest to true quantum

Highly recommend buying into these 2 as well

I should've been more clear about this. There are other quantum investments that are more stable and predictable, and yes those companies do have deeper pockets.

However, I don't think anyone can say that Google & IBM are closest to "true quantum" because that's not really a single milestone. We already have multiple cases of quantum supremacy, or "true quantum" where it beats classical computers by a ton. There are many forms of quantum, and they can serve different use cases.

QBTS uses an annealing method, whereas google & ibm use gate methods.
That's distinctly different, so while yes, they are in the same "race", they are solving different problems in different ways.
Google and IBM are going for more general purpose quantum & QBTS is more specialized for operational efficiencies and other complex tasks.

IONQ uses trapped ions, but also uses the gate methods.

RGTI is similar to Google/IBM because they are using superconducting qubits & gate methods.

QUBT uses photons & there has been some exciting research in this area

For example, Google claimed quantum supremacy and IBM made the claim that their claim is false.
QBTS/d-wave also reached quantum supremacy this year for a computational task.

These milestones are important and you should not count out the 4 companies I listed. Google & IBM are not guaranteed to "win" because of how many different markets there are "within quantum". I'm most excited by Advantage2 right now personally, but Google's Willow had incredible claims associated with it & I'd love to see more data for that.

There are just too many factors to consider, but there's enough room for hundreds of quantum companies to be profitable.

Error correction, noise reduction, and other breakthroughs can significantly improve computing power and a lot of this research applies to multiple companies, not just one. Yes, companies will keep research private, but the information we do not yet know is greater than any single advantage someone has now.

It's anyone's game, but as i said, there is enough room for trillions in investments and hundreds, or thousands, of successful quantum companies.
I would argue that the binary threshold for achieving true quantum would be Sha-256 encryption crackable in a reasonable amount of time. We're not talking cracked in minutes but, even if theyre able to run brute force for a week or even a month (timeline really isnt relevent so long as its actually cracked), and crack a 256 bit encryption key i would say we have achieved quantum.

right now, google has the most capital/momentum/ and incentive to get it done first. I think IBM is lagging but have a higher focus on quantum. We really cant know the inner workings of these corporations and can only speculate though.

I don't think that is accurate for 'true quantum' because quantum isn't an outcome, it's a principle of life and the physical reality we live in.
Quantum mechanics & quantum computing is leveraging different states, whether it's photons, ions, or other methods.
this can be used for very specific purposes that might not impress you, but far surpass what our normal computers can do for specific use cases.

However, if you want to think about something cool, here's how you can break any encryption, "easily" :
> Travel at a consistent acceleration of 5000-10K gforces (not possible with any current/public technologies)
> Travel for a few hundred, or maybe thousands of days away from Earth, and then back
> In that time, Earth will have aged a very, very long time
> If you keep a satellite orbiting Earth with a bruteforce attack, it will have enough time to decrypt
> When you return, having aged only a few years at most, you will have a decrypted payload
> Not quite sure about state of earth, but this is how you accomplish impossible decryption tasks. You don't wait - just fly away, come back, and hope it was worth it.

If you aim for a known celestial object, you can plan a turnaround

Sorry, I love this topic lol ^
We can't fly that fast, but the math does work if you can accomplish the acceleration in a way that doesn't tear apart your craft (all current/public materials can't survive that level of acceleration without theoretical fields).

Back on topic :)

I don't know why you are putting 256 encryption as the milestone for quantum. That's one use case that exists now, but it's not really something that quantum "has to do". Neither has to crack it for quantum to still be ahead.

For example, your computer would need to bruteforce 2^256, but a quantum computer would only bruteforce 2^128.
Already it's significantly better. Is that not "true quantum" ?

The way you typed your reply is also "true quantum".
Quantum is in every physical reaction, everything you touch, all that you do, and everything you know.

It's not something we have to achieve because quantum mechanics occur naturally - we're just hooking into them and learning how to control predictable reactions and probabilities in new ways.

True quantum computing feats have already been achieved - it's just per use case.
It's called "quantum supremacy" and it's when a quantum computer far surpasses what's possible with a classical computer, or even a super computer. It has happened a few times already for specific computational problems.
i was under the impression that quantum feats that have already happened aren't as impressive as they've been made out to be.
the tests they have done are almost irrelevent from a traditional computing perspective

Another good week making money on quantum, hand over fist.

The breakthroughs are numerous in the last few weeks, let alone year.
The breakthroughs we will see will outnumber every other category of research, and the impact will be world-changing.

Do not look at quantum as just an investment for money. It is an investment in the capabilities of the human species, and more.
I would donate to the same companies I invest in.
The benefits of quantum are greater than any portfolio, and yet wallets will grow too.

Nobody can truly miss the opportunity because the outcome of these investments benefit all of us.
...But you can invest too!

There is no way I could say "this is a good or bad entry point" because the upside and exit point for quantum is so far away, it cannot be predicted or determined.

In other words, this is not financial advice, it is life advice:
-> Research quantum
-> Invest in quantum
-> Donate to quantum
-> Just don't ignore quantum

Updated stats ~ I hold and I won't sell if it goes 5x tomorrow. You don't revolutionize the world and settle for 20x or 100x. Think bigger. The demand will overpower the supply. The tech bubbles of the past will feel tiny. ~

flyingduck you are still a hero, old friend.
I haven't made this much personally, but your tip led to hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits for a family member, and your tip basically solved another family member's retirement plan. Thank you for getting me interested & hooked on this research area. I had studied it previously, but not enough to pull the trigger on investments. Thank you.

I will find a way to thank you.

Duck tipped me off when some of these were $0.50-1.50 per share. HQ user
It took some people in my life a little longer to pull the trigger, but they mostly all started with qbts/rgti and then I got them into ionq & qubt after.
TODAY'S VALUES --- HUGE F'N GAINS IN LAST 2 WEEKS :)

QBTS - 32.96
QUBT - 24.58
