Steins Gate, no question.
It’s one of the few anime that genuinely stuck with me the story, the twists, the characters, the whole atmosphere. I still think about certain scenes years later. Nothing else hit me the same way.

Most memorable and not favorite? Let's see maybe original berserk is up there. Fell asleep to a gritty/dark but otherwise normal action anime and woke up to everyone in hell and demons raping one of the characters. Yuyuhakusho is definitely up there. The dark tournament and the cave scene especially when he leveled up are ingrained into my adolescent mind. Many anime from back then were very memorable. Long 100+ episode animes with long adventures and tons of character development.

For me Death Note, mainly because of the intense mind games between the characters and the constant psychological tension...

I have a few, I wonder if they’re most memorable because of that.

First „Zero no tsukaima” and it was a bit of love story but still nice.
The one I remember best is „Code geass”, I remember waiting weekly for that. Great anime overall.
And of course „Death note”, a masterpiece for me!
