I think most of people may aware of telegram has a wallet feature where we can buy crypto, exchange, earning for locking crypto like binance. Anybody using their wallet feature? Is it safe?
Anybody using telegram wallet for crypto? |

I don't use TON in general, but I have tried a few.
Tonkeeper was good, but like people are saying, it should not be trusted for long-term holds or large amounts. I had no issues with TON in general though. I am not a lawyer, but it had issues in the USA. It's unclear where the SEC & others stand now. There was a plan to launch Grams, but this didn't move forward because of the ban. AFAIK, the US banned Grams, but I'm not sure that they banned Toncoin. NOWPayments.io has a bunch of options for swaps if anyone has trouble buying or selling Toncoin.

I don’t think OP is referring to TonKeeper or TON specifically, but rather the Telegram mini-app @wallet which allows you to store multiple cryptos as well as buy them directly in your Telegram app. I personally don’t use it nor would I recommend it to anyone. It’s a third party mini-app not directly affiliated with Telegram itself despite the clean username though the company behind it does seem affiliated with TON, oh and it’s non custodial. If you lose your TG or the company behind the wallet becomes malicious, there go your coins. I have already read about some people getting their funds frozen. Not your keys, not your crypto. There are better alternatives, ones where you actually keep control of your coins. For a multicoin wallet just use Trust or Exodus or whatever. I would never. Don't get the fascination with a product doing cross features like this. I don't even like web3 wallets. What's wrong with actual dedicated apps and programs?

I couldn't imagine using anything that's not cold storage, especially nowadays.
I get using Phantom, MetaMask, Slush, etc. for day-to-day but just for holding, cold storage all the way. If you're ever hacked, usually cold storage and proper key handling is the only reason that funds never get stolen.
Just stick to hardware wallets a.k.a cold wallets. What could possibly go wrong with a Telegram wallet? Hmm... RAT infection and the loss of crypto, SIM swap and the loss of crypto, clipboard virus and the lost of crypto... I'm sure there are a few more options available to f*ck up your life, so take your pick.

There are ways to buy TON without needing to use Telegram wallet, so OP should go with that if they want to be in this market. |
