Wanting justice for your adult child, who most likely welcomed the fight, is not wanting justice. Its her dismissing any blame. 20 yr old vs 50 yr olds, all adults. Mommy doesn't need to go to the news talking about 40 scrapes.

Hmmm well parents get blamed no matter what they do. But one thing that aligns with your hypothesis is that the police said that there were no serious injuries, but she says that there were. Mind you police could be trivialising things because they think they're just an annoying pack of idiots. Or police could be reporting things wrong which they often do.

I finally found an article that explains more about the brawl. The staff delivered the burgers to the wrong table and those people just started eating the wrong order given to them. Then a staff member when confronted by the people at the other table waiting for their order just pointed to the other table and said "They have your food." Instead of saying, "We made a mistake," he just points to the other table and says "They have your food."

Good staff strategy for not being the ones that got beat up I guess. 🤣🤣🤣

Instead of taking responsibility, the server effectively blamed the customers at both tables for the error. The customers who received the wrong order were essentially eating food that wasn't theirs, and it was implied to the customers who were waiting that they deal with the situation themselves.
The statement pits the two parties against each other, putting the burden on the customers to resolve the restaurant's mistake.
The server lacked empathy and ownership and perhaps was even malicious in pitting the customers against each other.
