question - if they had multiplayer-AI to revive old multiplayer games, would you still play it? or do you need the teammates/enemies to be human? just curious, this could apply to any game

Still insanely popular. One of the newer licensed chapters were one of the most people of all time.

The game has changed a lot since it came out. It has improved so much.

I want to say it's still fairly popular. I feel like it wasn't crazy long ago I saw something about an update or DLC releasing for it. It's not my kind of game and so I've never played it, but I have seen both friends and streamers play it many times. I can see how it would be enjoyable. I also know more games of that genre are coming out next year. One of them is an official Halloween (movies) game and where you play as Michael Myers for the killer while going after other players. I believe gameplay wise it's pretty much the same concept as Dead By Daylight. So if nothing else, the interest in those kinds of games definitely still exists.

Yeah it’s definitely still popular, not dead at all. The game still gets tons of players and big events.
it even hit record player counts with crossovers in 2025.

Yeah, Dead by Daylight is very much alive.

It’s been around a long time but it still pulls a solid playerbase, especially since it’s cross-play. You won’t have issues finding matches, and the devs are constantly adding killers, survivors, and licensed content, which keeps things fresh.

I used to play it years ago but my Girlfriend is still playing it daily.

I know it's still a ways out, but I want to mention again that anyone who is into games like DBD should look into Halloween the game. Same genre and concept for the game. Doesn't come out until September, but good to keep on your radar if you're really into DBD. I think there is another game in that genre coming out this year as well, but can't recall any specifics about it.
