brand new here. To make a long story as short as possible I've been in IT for a loooong time as a programmer and did some hacking when I was still green behind my ears.
Then life got busy and many years flew by... Too fast and too many years actually and I'm in a phase where I want to get back into the game as it really was my passion and I'm feeling the love again but man have things changed.
So I've been CTF'ing (THM) for the last few months, doing Cisco trainings but it's been so overwhelming where I got to a point it's getting too much.
So I decided I needed to find some action and stop playing "games" as they just don't feel real and seem all so outdated. I found a few topics like linux and web injection which I try to focus on but still then the new learning stuff is so overwhelming. Going through Portswigger now and it just keeps coming into my face 🙃 ... my end goal would be Win AD but also there ther is so much to learn...
Soooooo... I thought looking up this forum and get some hands on "real" practice and start playing with some stuff but I guess I still need some directions on things that are realistic at my level. Webcams and all seem fun but still what is the added value no? I'm trying to figure out what could be very practical and useful in my learning curve. Playing with small unmeaning websites/online shops?
Anyway if anyone has some ideas please let me know.
In the meantime I built a useful tool to make CTF's easier for myself at www hackpack xyz but I would like to perfect it so any comments are welcome on that point as well
