Do you think social media algorithms are dumbing us down?

I’ve noticed I spend more time scrolling than learning lately. The feed always gives me exactly what I want and that’s the problem.

Do you think the internet’s personalization has gone too far?
100%. The internet’s turned into a mirror instead of a window, it just feeds you what keeps you scrolling. It’s comfortable, but you stop discovering anything new without even realizing it.
Definitely, besides I've noticed that I'm struggling more than before to retain information, like my short-term memory is definitely impacted and I think it's due to doom scrolling as you don't memorize what you see because there is too many and meaningless content.

I'm working on that, sharpening my algorithm to focus it on Linux, hacking, cybersecurity. So at least I could learn things, it could remember me things I've learned in the past, or could motivate me to learn something new
Only if you let it and I say this because you just need to limit your exposure to these apps and their algorithms. I used to use social media a lot but not so much anymore, mostly just youtube and even that I am getting tired of
For years now, I’ve been using social media mainly for “subscribers,” not for my personal life.
