I feel that since like 2022/2023, people online became more "social"... Everytime I work with someone good, even though we make money together, he'll just work elsewhere and I have to message him every single day or 2 days to get him back, for a few single tasks that'll bring him minimum a stack or more... in the other hand, I know someone who works in the same fields as me who's more social with people, he litteraly got his everyday side-workers, including reputed ones.
I also have a friend thats not that social but who managed to get an available associate by being more social with him. Is it me or there is more and more people like that who cares more about social than actual earnings?
Also I mostly worked with people from my country (France) so thats maybe part of the problem?

Kinda, yeah
You could offer me $1000 to do something, I'm not doing it for less than $2500 though
I don't really benefit that much from an extra grand in comparison to the effort most customers want. But when i price $1000 of work at $2500, I feel compensated enough to try
I always aim for at least 50% profit margin, with an hourly rate of $100/hour or more
so I figure 25 hours at $2500 = 12.5 hours of work ideally
It never works out that cleanly across the board, but yeah, for the most part, people here can't afford for me to work for them, so I keep it social.

What about $1000 to $2000 in less than an hour? Would you ghost me out after the first cut (2000 to 4000$ / 2) for a few days? Then would you really come back to work?
Thats what happens everytime

no, a deal is a deal, if I agree to $2500 and it takes me 100 hours instead of 25, I would still honor it and finish.
I don't flake on plans, even if there are milestone payments that must have dev done per phase

I am not talking about this kind of work, if actually know that you'll get at minimum 1000 to 2500, maybe more like 10K, in no more of 2 or 3 hours of working, you would do it right? When it is not about dev but more about skill with a little bit of luck

yeah of course, for non-dev, pricing is different on my side
Although if its 10k in 2-3 hours, i would wonder what crime is being committed lol, or what risks are taken / gambled
well unfortunately social becames like a drug these age and people are more and more drawn to it
I see at small childs they are so adicted to their phones
Unfortunately with Social media we are connected but we lost the human touch. We lost a part of humanity. The part where you'd sit down randomly over a cup of tea or coffee and have long deep conversations with no judgement.

Yeah, a deal is a deal. If you just ghost someone when it takes longer than expected then the only thing you can expect is bad rep for it.
I work full time with 11.47€/H and let me tell you I get paid 2080€ a month and after taxes etc I get 1790€ I get paid shit but I still keep my end of the deal, I show up at my work place every morning, doing the same shit I did yesterday. I get paid. I would love to make extra through the web but I feel like 99% of the offers are to good to be real. Also I have no money left over after to trade or invest in crypto so yeah it is just the never ending cycle of life for me. I do lottery 3 times a week but thus far no winnings. Maybe some day.
On that note, I would love to do extra work on the internet for even a 1k a week. Or hell a month.

Sorry to hear this, I was in a similar spot but I did have some extra time to start learning new skills. I then ramped up freelancing a bit. I did have to take a risk though - I couldn't fully jump into tech without leaving my job, and I did quit my job one summer to start a dev company. It worked out, but I consider ourselves lucky to have had the opportunity to grow because we landed a good client early on.
I sent you 500 bytes, nothing major but I hope it lifts your mood
You never know who you'll meet. I met my first business partner online and we did almost $1M in revenue together, without ever meeting in person.
The reason we started the business is because I explained my scenario to him just like you are explaining yours here. A few weeks later after multiple discussions, I was ready to risk it all and so i called my bosses and quit to go fulltime into the dev world and I haven't looked back for almost a decade now.
My point is that if you keep sharing your story, communicating, and focusing on your goals then you have the best chance. Don't ever fall silent if your plans don't pan out immediately. I had to tell someone I was struggling and wanted a career change in order for everything to align.
