I don’t know if you’ve been following this, but Artemis, this modular vulnerability scanner, has gone way further than I expected. Hey, wait, I’m not talking about some GitHub tool you star once and then forget about. Take a look:

What hit me first
Artemis is actually used by CERT PL for real-world scanning. Not demos, not lab setups, but live stuff, real websites, real vulnerabilities. And the reports it spits out are the kind you can send straight to an organization without rewriting everything. Like, hey, you’ve got a public .git directory, maybe you don’t want that. Or, hey, you’re running a Joomla version from the “stone age,” maybe you should do something about it. Simple, clear and almost polite.

The part that honestly surprised me
This tool was presented at BlackHat USA in 2024 Las Vegas. Plus TF-CSIRT events across Europe,Bucharest, Copenhagen.

Why I’m spreading the word
Because tools like this rarely make it into normal discussions. People are still scanning with the same old stuff, or completely ignoring the reporting side of things. Artemis seems to connect exactly that missing piece. It’s experimental, yeah, clearly stated, use it at your own risk. But the impact, from what I’m reading, is huge. Hundreds of thousands of vulnerabilities reported.
Wait, I’m not saying it’s perfect.I haven’t had time to run it end to end yet. But something about this smells like “keep an eye on this project.” And I figured I wouldn’t keep it just to myself.
