US Federal Judge rules ICE cannot arrest or interfere with protesters or drivers

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgprwlplqwo

Quote:A US federal judge has issued an order limiting the crowd control tactics that can be used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents (ICE) towards "peaceful and unobstructive" protesters in Minneapolis.

Judge Katherine Menendez ruled on Friday night that federal agents can't arrest or pepper spray peaceful demonstrators, including those monitoring and observing ICE agents.

Judge Menendez's 83-page order bars federal agents from arresting and "using pepper-spray or similar nonlethal munitions and crowd dispersal tools against persons who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity".

This one is very important too. Remember, this is not a new law or new ruling, this has always been true, but has been lawfully ordered by the Judge in response to recent events:

Quote:The ruling also limits agents from "stopping or detaining drivers and passengers in vehicles where there is no reasonable articulable suspicion that they are forcibly obstructing or interfering" with their work.

"The act of safely following [immigration agents] at an appropriate distance does not, by itself, create reasonable suspicion to justify a vehicle stop," it says.

Laws are not politics. Laws are laws, and they don't care who you are or who's elected. We all are required to abide by US Federal Judge rulings, and ignoring this ruling would be an illegal crime, even if told to or illegally "authorized" to commit the crime by a director or boss.

It is 100% required of our military and officers to disobey unlawful, illegal orders.

If an ICE or other Federal agent is ordered to arrest a peaceful protester, they are legally required to disobey the illegal order, even if the order comes from their boss, ICE organization, DHS, or even the President.

For non-USA people, this is how our country works. We elect a President who can make appointments, influence departments within the law, sign executive orders, and handle certain responsibilities as delegated by Congress and our laws. They are still bound by our laws and rulings of our judges. Any illegal crime going against an injunction, order, or other legal ruling from a federal judge can be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Laws are laws. Opinions are opinions. Politics are politics. Don't get them confused, they are separate concepts.
