there are tons of reasons for a cert to get revoked and it’s completely usage based, what am i supposed to do about that? when a signed file gets uploaded to virustotal and flagged as malware, how exactly am i supposed to prevent that?

I am not sure from where you get this info but no we buy certificates to avoid warming up apps to get Trusted by time from SmartScreen so once you sign your exe with valid certificate SmartScreen immediately trust the signature
