I believe the real breakthrough will happen when we get a real picture and understanding of Quantum field as a whole. Where or whenever we'd be able to unite the four fields on astronomical and quantum level.

Once we have those theories laid out as reality and law. Then that would be transferred over to Computer Science and Engineering where we will see true Quantum Computing power.
