Nintendo Issues Correction Over Leaked Nintendo Switch Online GameCube Games

A Walmart advertisement showing two unannounced GameCube games coming to Nintendo Switch Online was actually a mistake from Nintendo itself, and the two titles aren't planned for the service as of yet. After Walmart's Nintendo page displayed a graphic including Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Pikmin 2, a Nintendo of America spokesperson told IGN that it "provided a retailer with an image of Nintendo GameCube -- Nintendo Classics titles that incorrectly included games that are not planned for release at this time." Oh man! Getting some people hyped for nothing. 🤣

How can something like this even happen? If a game is not supposed to be on the platform. How can the marketing department run ads for it?

Sounds BS and seems like Nintendo is going to release those games at some point but now it's covering up.

If they made all the old OG pokemon games to play on NS2 then I'd buy a NS2 in no time

Not the first time something like this has happened. Definitely a bummer for those that saw it and got excited. I think most of us have seen a rumor or a supposed leak for something, assumed or at least hoped it was true, and then it turns out to be BS. Not a great feeling lol. Who knows though, maybe the shown games are in fact planned and the showing of them was a mistake is all. Situations like this have gone both ways before to be fair.

I strongly believe that all of those "leaks" are just a PR and MKT tool for corporations like Nintendo
