Well, this isn’t new, but here we go again
like almost every year.

So, The Treasury (Hacienda in Spain) is investigating a possible cyberattack , and yeah, AGAIN that would affect the accounts and tax data of 47 million citizens.

This was reported and they investigating a possible cyberattack on its databases, which would have compromised the personal, banking and tax data of approximately 47.3 million citizens.

For the moment, they has assured that there is no indication that this hack has taken place, but work is being done to rule out any possible leak. Well, will see...🙄

The early warning platform for cyberattacks alerted this afternoon that a user called HaciendSec (Yes, like Hacienda)🤭 was offering on the darkweb a set of data that would include 47.3 million citizens, including ID numbers, full names, addresses, telephone numbers and banking and tax data.

Endesa and Iberia from Spain

They say that, this database is not sufficient to verify that the Treasury has suffered a cyberattack🤦‍♂️, since on many occasions cybercriminals boast of data they do not have with the intention that someone buys the database and discovers the deception afterward.

This hack comes after two large companies such as Iberia and Endesa have suffered security breaches in recent months.

In the case of Endesa, the security failure reached 20 million customers. When attacks of this magnitude occur, it is common for the number of cyberattacks that seek to exploit the exposed data to increase.

According to the Spanish Data Protection Agency, in 2025 more than 2,700 personal data breaches were reported that affected more than 200 million users.🤐

47 million is indeed crazy; wouldn't be surprised if it is higher than this too though.
If it was US data it would have been worth so much more
