On the morning of Feb. 3, several horrified parents phoned police after learning that a day-care teacher on W. Main St. in St. Charles had allegedly given their toddlers a chewable laxative.
When officers arrived and began speaking with families and staff, they said they were able to confirm what had happened and identified three children involved, all no older than two.
By the end of the investigation, police had arrested Yizel J. Juarez of Sycamore, charging her with three counts of attempted aggravated battery against a child under 13 and three misdemeanor counts of endangering a child’s life or health.
