Not talking about ingame currency, I mean actual real money that you could use in real life.
Was it from tournaments, competitive gaming, play-to-earn games...?

How much did you make, and was it consistent or just luck?

This is so broad but yes you can make money many ways.
You can make money from your clips, tournaments, I use to use Repeat.gg when I was chronically gaming. Are you trying to make income from your gaming?

I used to host a lot of video game tournaments locally here, Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6 and others. I highly recommend getting into it if you have a game you’re pretty good at.

A way you can come up is being a host but tricky part is having enough money to afford the extra stuff. All you need is monitors and gaming systems, like Ps5’s or Pc’s because that’s what the standard is right now. Charge someone $450-$600+ a month to host an event once a week. Build a discord community for your group and let it build up, make short form clips of the tournaments. We also would stream it ok Twitch which helped the events pop a little more. If you have some friends you guys can come together and make decent money. If you need any advice feel free to send me a message.
