This is more for the vets here, rather than newer users.. But all are free to chime in. I'm curious. For me personally (2009) I was quite literally a kid focused on joining the forum for the Runescape/Minecraft sections. Selling RS gold, getting into RSPS, reselling minecraft launchers, web hosting, OG usernames, e-products to other forums.. Skidding VB.NET keyloggers for Xbox points generators and shit, lol. HF was a major, major part of my 'internet kid' development.
Modernly, I work in the music industry(3X platinum RIAA certified, god did), still do a big of OG usernames, and do some work digital marketing/social media consulting for extra cash as well. I find myself constantly referencing knowledge I learned in my youth, primarily through this forum, and it lead me to think I must not be the only one(timeline wise). I have quite literally never worked a 9-5 job and a big part of that was off the back of making e-money as a teenager through things I'd learned here. It set the precedent and helped wire my brain in an entrepreneurial direction.
There must be a pretty decent % of users who were teenagers/etc. when they signed up and are now adults with families, businesses, etc.
So, I ask, how has your life progressed since joining HF?
Ever since HF added sports book I have become a gambling addict lol

I can't tell if this is a good or bad change.
I've been here a decade and a half almost lol, and the site has been the same for me when it comes to my internet kid stages. Most of what I know tech-wise is as a result of HF, or the curiosity originally started here. I think it's overall had a positive effect, simply because of how enthralled I still am with tech all these years later.
Also, I've joined NUMEROUS forums over the years, even the ones we don't name that have existed on and off over the years. HF is the only one I've regularly came back to the entire time, largely due to the community. That and Omni used to have some great blowups on people, as well as rep fucks, which I am still disappointed are not called rep fucks anymore by the way.

Nice Post ✌
I joined this forum back in 2014. I was still a kid at the time, just messing around online and trying to figure things out.
I met a lot of solid people, picked up basic marketing skills, learned how to deal with clients, how to spot scams, how to protect myself online, and honestly just how to think more independently. Even the mistakes I made here taught me lessons
now I’m older, responsibilities are bigger, goals are different but that entrepreneurial mindset started here.
crazy how something you joined as a teenager end up influencing your whole path.
respect to the old heads who’ve been around since the early days and of course the creator of this . time really flies. 😭😖
I joined realatively recentlly - coming up to 3 years ago. Since I joined, HF has spurred me on to secure a job in the cyber security field. Will forever be greatful for that. Aside form that - not much has changed lol
I'm actually new here, but I think it's worth mentioning how much has changed since I've joined and coincidently (Or not, if you know what I mean) things have changed big-time for me within my personal and career life.
I'm really grateful and although these changes aren't linked directly to HF, I consider that what I've done and earned so far in HF itself is an achievement for me. I wish the same to everyone here who joins with optimistic intentions and applies positive contribution to the community.
The Brotherhood - The Academy - VIBE - The Mob
Well, it’s changed a bunch. I think it’s been two years now since I've joined. In that time, I lost my brother, married my husband, started saving for a business, and went back to university. I think it’s going to change a lot more in the coming years.
My life has been hell, but for the last year and a half it’s been bliss, minus the PTSD. All in all, I feel like a changed man. I have achieved a lot in such a short time. I have also lost a lot in that same time. But the most important thing I’ve learned is that all we can do for the dead is keep living. If we can’t live for ourselves, then we live for those around us.

I haven't used the account in a long time, so I'd say not much—I've been working on a really interesting programming project, though it's pretty demanding, to be honest.
I have met some amazing people throughout my years on this site, and have so many memories. I may not be as active as I used to be but visit occasionally.
nice place to share your words
