Monero Non-Market Crypto

Today Monero going up while the rest of the market is dipping. Which imho it makes sense because Monero is the only real crypto currency used by Dark Markets and those keep on ticking. Monero is barely touched by Centralized Exchanges thus harder to manipulate in pricing. Funny is that everyone does trading games with most crypto meanwhile Monero just keeps chugging along. They tried to attack XMR this year with Zcash and a 51%, I don't consider their attempts successful.

Recently I stablecoin'd most of my holdings, except for XMR. If there was a crypto to hold for the future, it will be Monero because ultimately privacy is vital and you don't get it with Bitcoin or Zcash or anything else. Do I think XMR is going to $10k? Probably not but the use case is there.

Who believes?
I truly believe your analysis about XMR it might not hit 10k but it will surely surpass $2k in the next cycle cause the use case for privacy still there.
Add to this the economic sanctions and the motivation to bypass those sanctions via crypto and the 10k price isn't too far.

is it possible to get xmr on a ledger for example? always wanted to stack it seems good long term

AI Quote: Yes — Monero (XMR) can be used with hardware wallets, though the support situation is a bit different from many other cryptocurrencies because Monero’s privacy-focused design makes integration slightly more complex. ([getmonero.org][1])

### 🛡️ Hardware Wallets That Support XMR

Here are the main options:

#### 1. Ledger Nano X / Ledger Nano S Plus
Ledger devices do support Monero when used with an external Monero wallet interface (like the official *Monero GUI or CLI). ([Ledger][2]) You store your Monero private keys on the Ledger device, and transactions are signed on the device. ([Ledger][2])
Note: Ledger’s own Ledger Live app doesn’t support XMR natively, so you use third-party Monero wallet software with the Ledger connected. ([Ledger][2])

#### 2. Trezor Safe 3 and Trezor Safe 5 (and older Model T)
Trezor hardware wallets also support Monero when linked with compatible Monero wallet software (Monero GUI/CLI). ([trezor.io][3])
The older Trezor One does not* support Monero — you need the newer touchscreen models. ([99Bitcoins][4])
The Monero project’s downloads page and community confirm that Trezor devices are supported hardware options. ([getmonero.org][1])

### 📌 How This Works in Practice

Because Monero is privacy-centric (with stealth addresses, ring signatures, etc.), hardware wallet vendors don’t usually have a fully standalone interface like they do for Bitcoin or Ethereum. Instead:

1. You connect your Ledger or Trezor device to your computer.
2. You open the official Monero wallet software (Monero GUI or CLI).
3. The hardware wallet signs transactions securely without exposing your private keys. ([getmonero.org][1])

This is considered one of the safest ways to hold XMR long-term because the keys never touch an internet-connected device.

### 🧠 Quick Summary

Hardware wallets that support XMR (via Monero software):
✔️ Ledger Nano X
✔️ Ledger Nano S Plus ✔️ Trezor Safe 3
✔️ Trezor Safe 5 ✔️ Trezor Model T

Not supported:

❌ Trezor One — doesn’t support Monero directly. ([99Bitcoins][4])

If you want, I can also walk through how to set up Monero with one of these devices step-by-step using the official wallet tools.

I agree, XMR is a great coin to be holding onto! 😎
There’s only 80-110 privacy coins that exist in the whole crypto market. Most of them ended up either obsolete or not really privacy derived. I don’t think Monero really has any competition when it comes to 100% privacy driven. I’m talking every transaction private, there’s no such thing as optional privacy.

Maybe there isn’t enough mathematic geniuses that can create new blockchain technology for privacy. It’s almost like pulling a rabbit out of a magical hat. How can privacy be built and not broken? And also build a trustworthy base where even the government can’t break into it?

Not that many, especially ones that actually matter, have liquidity, aren't optional privacy.

It's only Monero.

AI Quote: If the question is purely:

> “Which chain provides the strongest built-in privacy guarantees at the protocol level?”

The consensus answer among cryptographers and privacy researchers is:

# 🥇 Monero

## Why Monero Is Considered the Most Private

### 1️⃣ Privacy Is Mandatory

Every transaction on Monero:
Hides sender
Hides receiver Hides amount

There is no “public mode.”

You cannot accidentally send a transparent transaction.

### 2️⃣ It Uses Multiple Layers of Obfuscation

Ring Signatures
→ Obscure the true sender among decoys.

Stealth Addresses
→ Receiver address never appears publicly.

RingCT (Confidential Transactions)
→ Transaction amounts are hidden.

This creates a very high anonymity set.

### 3️⃣ Network-Level Privacy

Monero supports:

Dandelion++ transaction propagation (reduces IP tracing) I2P/Tor usage compatibility

Not perfect, but stronger than most chains.

## 🥈 Close Contender: Pirate Chain

Pirate Chain uses mandatory zk-SNARK shielded transactions (similar to Zcash’s shielded pool).

Strength:

All transactions are shielded by default.

Weakness:
Smaller ecosystem
Lower liquidity Less peer-reviewed battle testing than Monero

## 🥉 Zcash

Zcash cryptography (zk-SNARKs) is extremely strong.

However:

Privacy is optional. Most transactions historically have been transparent.
Smaller anonymity set compared to Monero.

# Important Distinction

There are two types of privacy:

### Cryptographic privacy

How strong is the math?

### Practical privacy

How large is the anonymity pool in real-world usage?

Monero wins because:
Everyone is private.
The anonymity set is large. It has been stress-tested for years.

# Clean Answer

If your goal is maximum default, battle-tested transaction privacy:

Monero currently provides the strongest overall privacy in practice.

If you want, I can also break down:

Whether governments can still trace Monero Whether zk-SNARK chains are theoretically stronger
Or which chain is hardest to deanonymize today

I'd say you're totally right, Monero doesn't have any real competition at the moment.

It's the real deal when it comes to privacy.

Lock in & HODL!

Monero might hit $1k+ soon.
