hello, I am very new to hacking! I've only heard about it and seen it the movies, but never been exposed to it in the flesh.
how long did it take to learn?
was it learned in school or at "home"?
is it difficult to pick up?
It takes dedication and hard work, not how long and it depends on how good you understand concepts and methodologies.

Not very difficult if you enjoy it and find a subtopic of it that interests you. I learned through both avenues. Not difficult but there's many forms of hacking from social engineering to stuff that involves more complex technical concepts such as data forensics and ethical hacking knowledge.
Start with what interests you. trust

It’s not easy, but it’s also not impossible. It requires patience, discipline, and consistent learning. If someone is genuinely interested, the best approach is to focus on ethical hacking and security, and build a strong foundation first.

This is probably equally, if not way more important than what I said too btw @OP
depends on what you are learning you can learn how to code a program in a few months
I don't know how to hack. I'm just a filthy gambling addict.

As far as I know, it's a life-long pursuit. You never stop learning, and you simply can not know everything.
