I have a friend who was a very loyal customer to Chase.
He had a credit card with them for over 10 years. Been banking with them.
A month ago, he opened up a Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card.
Then on March 11, they decided to close his Chase account.
The branch manager called corporate. They stated that he was closed because of “negative press” from adverse media searches.
Just to know: he has criminal federal convictions regarding “x crime” back in 2019. He served a 2 year sentence for it. It’s not a SO offense. It is involving financial fraud.
He only has articles on the DOJ and social media FBI page regarding his crimes if his name was searched. There’s not much else I’ve seen.
I was wondering if anyone here has any recommendations to avoid any future account closures with any other banks because of the negative adverse media searches? Is there any ways to remove those searches somehow?
I know the Chase is not possible to reopen. He has other banks. He’s just super paranoid because of what recently happened. Definitely is going to crush his credit score because of the average account age dropping.
