To get into social engineering hacking you can use methods like phishing where you send messages that look like they come from trusted sources to get personal information you can also use pretexting by creating fake scenarios to trick people into revealing data baiting involves luring someone with a reward like a free download or gift in exchange for sensitive information quid pro quo is when you offer something in return for information such as help with a computer in exchange for passwords tailgating is following someone into a secure area to gain access vishing is using phone calls to pretend to be a trusted entity and get information smishing is similar but through text messages spear phishing targets specific individuals with personalized attacks dumpster diving involves searching through trash for documents with personal data impersonation is pretending to be someone else to gain trust manipulation uses emotions or urgency to get people to act without thinking fake websites and apps mimic real ones to steal login details or financial information psychological tactics like authority bias can be used to make people comply with requests these methods can be used to lure people into giving sensitive information fall for scams or be manipulated
