I’ve been working on an experimental data transformation system that doesn’t use a traditional key.
Instead, it derives a deterministic transformation from:
- A generated lexicon (SQLite-based)
- A mnemonic phrase
- User-defined indices/parameters
What makes it different
- No single key - the “key material” is multi-component
- Deterministic but highly sensitive to input mismatches
- Always produces output (even when wrong), which creates interesting failure modes
- Fully portable (no install, runs from external media)
Tools included
- Scribe - builds lexicons
- LAT - analyzes lexicon structure
- Vizini2 - performs transformations
Important caveats
This is not a replacement for real encryption:
- No authentication or integrity checks
- Not formally analyzed
- Incorrect inputs fail silently
Why I built it
Mostly for:
- experimenting with alternative transformation models
- obfuscation concepts
- countering pattern analysis attacks
- avoiding vulnerability to Shor's algorithm
- and exploring “plausible deniability through ambiguity”
