Twisted BDSM Fetish Plot Led to a Double Murder — and Au Pair Says It Was 'Part of th

"And then I asked him, 'Are you gonna divorce her?' And then he said, 'That's not what I'm thinking about.' And then he explained that he was thinking about finding a way to just get rid of her, out of the picture," so he could be with the family's nanny or au pair, Juliana Peres Magalhaes

The couple made a fetlife account and tried to pretend the wife [Christine, a paediatric intensive care nurse] had a fetish for rape roll play.

After many people on Fetlife turned the account down because "she" wouldn't meet in person beforehand they finally tricked a man, after emailing with him for a month, into turning up at their house with a knife and cutting off her clothes.

Then the "husband" Brendan Banfield shot the innocent Fetlife man in the head and then stabbed his wife to death then he and the au pair nanny he was having an affair with told police that the Fetlife pawn Joe Ryan had stabbed her to death when he hadn't even touched her at that point

Prosecutors have alleged Brendan was having an affair with Juliana Peres Magalhaes, a Brazilian au pair living with the Banfields in Virginia, and that he was the mastermind of a plot to kill Christine by luring a stranger to his home through a fetish website and making it look like she was killed in a home invasion.

Christine, was found mortally wounded after being stabbed in her Herndon, Va., home on February 24, 2023. She later died in the hospital. Ryan was found dead nearby — with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Attorney Eric Clingan alleged at the Oct. 29 plea hearing in Fairfax County Circuit Court that Banfield lured Ryan to the home on the morning of Feb. 24, 2023, alleging that “Ryan likely believed that he was meeting Christine Banfield to have a consensual sexual encounter involving restraints used on her, her clothing being cut off with a knife he brought, and other violent sexual role play.”

Brendan is accused of creating a profile on Fetlife.com, a bondage website, posing as Christine, and messaging Ryan about a "consensual sexual encounter involving restraints used on her, her clothing being cut off with a knife he brought, and other violent sexual role play."

Joe Ryan he pawn from Fetlife was fatally shot, whereas Christine was stabbed to death in the home in Herndon, Va.

That's exactly right. That's what it's all about. I am surprised that so many people in YouTube comments don't get that.

Runs off into the sunset with an insurance claim for the dead spouse too...Sounds all a bit too much hard work.

He did have that set up as well, although with everything else in this case, that's hardly been mentioned.

It was hard work because they had to talk to a LOT of Fetlife men before they could find one who didn't want to insist on meeting her to make sure it was legit concentual. Salt of the earth.

Her husband was an IRS FBI agent that investigated IRS infractions. He had no problem shooting a complete stranger in the head to try and frame him and no problem stabbing his own wife and mother of his little girl repeatedly until death. And the aupair heard this plan and just went "OK." They were so sure they wouldn't get caught.
