hey, new here and just looking around the privacy / osint section

been trying to clean up my own accounts a bit, like better passwords, 2fa, email aliases, removing old info from sites, stuff like that

what would you say are the basic things someone should do first before going deeper into privacy?

You could "organize" your online accounts.
Like using an email address just for gaming, one just for social media, online shopping, and so on. It would be harder for anyone to "cast a wider net".
If you change passwords for all of your accounts, always use a different one, the more complex the better. If you dont trust online password generators you can code your own one, theres tutorials for that online.
And ofc all the other obvious stuff, another thing most ppl I know dont think of is to erase yourself from the wayback machine, which also helps.
