Honestly mate, I think the best gifts are usually the ones that show a bit of effort rather than just money spent.

If you baked a cake for Mother's Day, maybe do something similar for your dad. Cook him a meal, take him out for lunch, or spend some quality time together. A few beers are fine if that's what he's into, but the memory will probably mean more than the gift itself.
