Hey everyone! Since this field is full of fascinating—and incredibly complex—things, I'm curious if any of you had some wild fantasies or crazy ideas about hacking before you actually learned how cybersecurity and hacking really work.

I remember watching old movies where they showed all kinds of impossible things. I can't remember which movie it was, but years ago—long before I even had access to a computer or the internet—I saw a scene where someone shut off the lights in a specific building, or maybe even an entire city, using nothing but a computer. I had no idea what I was looking at, but I thought it was amazing. The idea that there were technological geniuses out there who could supposedly do something like that completely blew my mind.

In my childhood innocence, I used to dream about doing exactly the same thing someday—turning off the lights in some random place just for fun. Looking back, I realize it probably wouldn't be funny at all if it affected a bunch of innocent people, but at the time I genuinely thought it would be the coolest thing ever.

So what about you? What was the weirdest or most interesting fantasy you had back when you didn't really understand this world yet, or when your idea of hackers came mostly from movies and TV shows?
