Hello,

I’m not sure if this has been suggested or discussed before, but I was thinking would it be beneficial to have the convo displayed on the main page, at the top of every category, somewhat similar to how the Shoutbox looks like? Instead of having to go through Conversation -> HF Group Chat, it could be linked directly from the main page. I know it’s only two clicks away as it is, but I was just wondering if having it there would make it more convenient or look cleaner. What do you think?

Also one thing that can support the idea, some members do not even know this feature exist. And if the chat itself is annoying to some members they will have the option to minimize/hide it just like the HF's logo.

Yes Yes Yes!! Pub Convo is one of the greatest social features of HF and has a great community going!

Interesting to see how this goes, everyone supports the idea and it's not like implementing a completely different plugin, it's the same one, just moved out from a different page to the main one. This will increase its activity as well, some people are not even aware that we have convo because it's placed in a different page

Oh damn, I can't even hate because I love it so much.

I can't shut this down but I also can't implement until we're new server and Convo actually working again.

One issue having Convo on all pages is the amount of resources it would consume has to be considered. That could be a more technical hurdle than you can imagine.

EDIT: Also that screenshot is obviously Desktop, how would it work on mobile which is at least 50% of the viewers.

Mobile and Desktop is already a massive pain in the butt.

I loathe trying to create a separation of features because of them. I want the HF experience to be as close to the same as feasibly possible.

On desktop when you minimize the window and go into tablet or mobile view size it's pretty seemless.

On the backend you use the same resources either view. But if we changed mobile view to not display a chat convo window that's on the desktop then those resources are still in effect on the device. Likely taking up very valuable space.

While I love the concept drawn up by Motusora, I can't say that it's a wise move to put the Convo on the index or forumdisplay pages. Navigation wise if a member wants to keeo Convo open, just open a new tab. Why wouldn't you just do that?

Now if you're complaining that not enough people know where the Convo is and that it needs better exposure, that's a different argument. I don't think you solve that by your suggestion and you create new problems. Not even sure I want more Convo usage.
