Benefits to the group
- better structure for creating editions, discussing plans and ideas amongst members and projects.
- a userbar contributors can wear around the forum so they can be recognised within the community
- Cap gets his subforum back (I know he doesn't mind)

Given how many groups there are that are a complete waste of space, I never understood why the HF News did NOT have it's own group.
HF News has more contributions than all other groups combined.

Realistically should have been given a group a long time ago, during the peak years of HF and other forums alike.


I feel like giving one now wouldn’t be much use - I’m sure they have already established a communications network and the only thing it would possibly provide would be a user bar and maybe a news reward.

I do think it’s time to start looking at groups and seeing who’s putting the effort into them and who isn’t. I remember on another forum similar to this I was in multiple groups and the group lounge was always busy - but then that has the knock on effect of taking engagement away from the already low public posts.

Back in my day, there was an allocated group for writers which handled the news.. but the forms were much more active then and it made sense.

As a longtime member whose very infrequently active, I am genuinely surprised you guys don't already have a group. You guys probably contribute more effort and time into this site than a good majority of members. I vote for Omni creating a special group for you guys.

Obsurd amounts is subjective but they're probably worth about $1000-2000+.

A Writers group wouldn't be allowed to be sold.

Oh okay, yeah that number is way less absurd hearing that as an adult now lol, was 14/15 when I was most active.

I do remember there being a 'Writer' role the way I have a l33t role, is that still a thing? Seems like this site has done a lot of moving backwards if so...

Personally I dont really see a need, altough there are much more points as to why the news team should have a group then there are reasons they shouldnt have one.
It would for sure be worth it for yall.

I don't care one way or the other tbh, but an HF News Group would definitely be more active than every single other group. No other group does weekly (or even monthly) contributions to HF

I think it would be a good idea. Maybe they could get increased posting limits or something, so there’s no need to make multiple posts because of the image limit.

I don't mind either way, but my initial impression is that it's not really needed. The HF News team has been killing it this whole time without a group and I don't really see how having one would make that noticeably more so. I can understand the appeal for being able to represent the team more prominently, but that's not a major argument for being provided a group in my opinion. As for if having the group would genuinely make discussion and structure a meaningful amount easier, I'll just have to take your word for it. It's an understandable reason to want a group if so though. All of that said, if a group was ever going to be provided for something, the news team should be at the top of that list. They've contributed a bunch and have done an incredible job so far. I know that will only continue and regardless of them having a group or not as well.

Yes, tbh I think an official HF News group would be a great addition.
Not being biased just because I’d be interested in the graphics job 🤣🤣

I genuinely think it would help with organization, collaboration, and community recognition.

and if anyone was to help with things it should be for free not trying to upsell their services by offering a discount to members of a free group lol.
