REA : Reverse Engineer Anything | 170.5k ⭐
So for few days now I saw a lot of videos about copyright software being cloned to free and open source version, especially Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect, ...).
I was wondering how people made those software and I ended up on this tool called REA for Reverse Engineer Anything.
At the moment we're speaking, the project already has 170.5k stars, and it has been online for a week only. The video below shows pretty well how the tool works, it's a 10 mins video.
Anyone gave it a try ? What did you do with it ?
Here are few ideas / projects I have in my mind :
- Reverse Engineer malware (of course)
- Audit software to find vulnerabilities and understand how they work
- Retrieve and RE firmware from different devices, it would be cool to add features or change some settings you're not supposed to change
I'm looking for other ideas, feel free to share :)
Besides, a lot of people could make their own version of malware based on other malware with this. Of course the guardrails of Claude and Codex wouldn't allow that, but it relies on more permissive local AI, there will be a lot of new malware on the market for sure.
