Must-Watch Halloween Movies

To be honest, I haven't watched most of the movies on this little list. I've only seen a few that used to air on regular TV in my country, along with some generic movies that probably never became popular in the US but somehow made their way over here, got dubbed, and then disappeared without a trace.

But getting straight to the list, these seem to be the must-watch movies for the Halloween season! HOWEVER, I'm sure some of you have your own favorites or a completely different top 5. Feel free to share your personal or family favorites and why you chose them! :3

1. Halloween (1978)
Michael Myers, the white mask, the knife, and one Halloween night. It’s probably the movie most directly associated with the holiday in the slasher genre.

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Jack Skellington discovers Christmas and decides to take it over. A mix of Halloween, dark fantasy, music, and humor that works wonderfully throughout October.

3. Hocus Pocus (1993)
Three witches are accidentally brought back to life in Salem. It’s one of the most iconic family-friendly Halloween movies in the United States.

4. Beetlejuice (1988)
Ghosts, a haunted house, dark humor, and absurd situations. Perfect if you want something macabre without spending the entire movie terrified.

5. Trick 'r Treat (2007)
Interconnected horror stories that unfold during a single Halloween night. If you’re looking for a movie that embraces Halloween traditions, costumes, pumpkins, and the darker side of the holiday, this is an excellent choice.

Tell me, what are your picks? Are there any TV shows, movies, or even horror shorts or anything similar that you like to watch around this time of year?
Share your family experiences with these kinds of movies! Maybe an old childhood memory or a memorable moment you’ve shared with your family recently. 🎃👻

These are great, I would like to suggest Midsommar or really anything by Ari Aster. He's the GOAT of new-age horror at the moment
