[Tutorial] Remove Red Eyes Without the Red Eye Tool [PhotoShop]

This is a tutorial converted for GIMP to PhotoShop by me, without using the red eye tool at all!

Introduction

Don't you just hate those red eyes in your pictures that make you look like a devil? Well, today I'm going to teach you how to remove them.

It gives excellent results: eyes maintain the full catchlight and proper tonalities; something you don't necessarily get with other "simpler" techniques.

The basic procedure is to use the fuzzy select tool to select the pupils, then apply the channel mixer to drastically reduce the red channel component.

Here's a before and after.

Before

Scary right, looks like a devil baby.

After

It's much better now, no more devil baby.

Tutorial

STEP 1.
Load the Image into PhotoShop.

STEP 2.
Select the "Zoom Tool" and zoom into the eyes.

STEP 3.
Select the "Magic Wand Tool" or the "Elliptical Marquee Tool" and try your best to select the pupils. Hold down "Shift" to select more than one thing.

STEP 4.
Now bring up the Channel Mixer (Colors -> Components-> Channel Mixer). You'll want to mix down the Red channel significantly and boost Green. I use settings of Red 10%, Green 60% and Blue 30%. You may need to experiment to see what gives you the most realistic pupil, but this is a good starting point.

STEP 5.
De-select the eyes and zoom out of the picture and enjoy your pictures without blue eyes. NOTE:Sometimes the eyes look weird, as in looks like you just stuck emeralds on the eyes.
DON'T RIP, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO RE-POST THIS ANYWHERE.

Nice in depth tut. It should be here though >_>

simple tutorial, thanks for making it and hope no one rips it.
Simple tutorial, very basic. I use Paint.NET, but everything is mostly the same.
