Good morning all, it's 2026. We are past another year and into a brand new one. Out with the old and in with the new. This is our chance to refresh our daily lives and embrace the future.
For HF, I have some immediate plans to run a promotion for the month. Those details will be coming shortly in a new thread. But I also plan on some new development, getting off my butt and actually making things happen. I'm excited about 2026, I hope you are too.
For my NYE I was out with the wife at a party on the Las Vegas Strip in a condo. It was an enjoyable evening where I met many interesting people. I'd love for you to share your NYE story and any resolutions or plans you might have for 2026.
Merry Xmas to all HF members. We're about to enter into 2026 and this is the time of year to show gratitude and to be with family. Many of us here consider each of part of an HF family. In that spirit I want to thank all of you for being apart of this site and participating throughout the year. You've made it a pleasure to be the Admin of such a great community. Thank you for that.
Welcome back to the Hack Forum News. Where we keep you up to date on the weekly events and news happening on site and around the world. If you have never heard of the Hack Forum News, don't worry, we have you covered. We are a team of members from the Hack Forums community who are journalists and writers, and we are here to keep you in the loop of the changes around the site and the events happening around the world.
With the holiday season just around the corner, we want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season from everyone within the Hack Forums News Team this year, and we hope everyone has a great time with their loved ones. What a crazy year it has been, and we can't wait for the new year.
Recently there has been a discussion about the marketplace here on the site. [mention=1] has changed how the threads within the marketplace section work back to how they were many years ago. The change has been put in place as of the 19th of December and is currently in a phase for testing to see how members of the site treat the change. Feel free to share your thoughts on this policy change.
The Hack Forums Wiki has returned. The site has been under some work recently as the site was sadly left with a load of issues and no one was running the official site. Thanks to everyone within the HF news team, the site is now under new leadership and, thanks to [mention=1] allowing the team to start their work on this while maintaining the HF news, the site is back getting some lovely changes and getting updated daily to bring it back to a new modern day Wikipedia with a load of information for everyone to read up on.
Are you looking to join the HF news team? Do you enjoy making threads or even want to become a better writer? Well, we are looking for members of the site to help write each week and are looking for anyone who has any interest. We have a few new sections opening up right now, and we would love for you to see if they would be anything of interest to you. If you are interested, please check out the thread or contact [mention=2331053] to discuss joining the team behind the HF News.
This week we have our Christmas season of music. For the next few editions we will be featuring a few Christmas songs. We wanted to feature more than one song each week but, sadly, we have found, due to the limitations of the site, we are only allowed to feature one song, so we will make sure they are only the best. If you would like to nominate your own, please head over to this thread here. >>Click Here<<

I just had a discussion with a member who missed the old days of bumping. He's not the first to complain about how our Marketplace listing is by Thread Creation date. The original change got rid of LQP bumps, friend bumps (groups were doing this), and fake accounts by sellers. It also forced usage of Bytes for Stanley Bumps which was very efficient.
But in good-faith after discussions with the member I'm open to seeing how reversing the change would be seen by the community and if the old bad-habits will return.
Back then I don't believe we had any official bump policy but generally speaking the Staff told sellers not more than once in a 24 hour period and to try to add something of quality to the post and not just "bump" or some other LQ post. For now I suppose that's once again how we'll start off.
As always I'm happy to review policies on HF and see if adjustments improve the community experience.
