ChatGPT getting dumber?
by [mention=5699666]

A thoughtful thread that taps into a feeling many users quietly share. [mention=5699666] breaks down how ChatGPT used to feel sharper, more helpful, and less restrictive - especially for coding, cybersecurity questions, and product comparisons - and contrasts that with recent experiences of refusals, misunderstandings, and weaker outputs. The discussion touches on safety filters, model changes, and whether tools like Perplexity are starting to feel more reliable. A great read if you've ever caught yourself thinking, "Wasn't this better before?"

How old were you when you began using a computer?
by [mention=4402880]

A simple question that unlocked a surprisingly nostalgic discussion. Members share their first memories with computers. It's one of those threads that reminds you just how diverse the HF user base is, while also highlighting how fast technology became central to everyone's lives.

Office24 ProPlus2024 serial
by [mention=5458992]

Another helpful thread that shows what HF community is all about. Sharing a key might seem a simple move, but it might make a big difference to someone who needs it. I really hope we see more of this!

[Legends] Brute force AI tool that tries really hard to behave like a human user
by [mention=5568595]

An eye-opening post that dives into BruteForceAI - a tool that blends brute forcing with LLM-driven behavior to mimic real users. From DOM analysis and adaptive retries to human-like delays and jitter, this isn't your old-school attack script. The thread doesn't glorify it, but it does raise important awareness for anyone in red team, blue team, or defensive security. One of those posts that quietly signals a shift in how AI is being weaponized.

[EDUCATIONAL] Predicting RNG Output via Reverse Engineering
by [mention=5699666]

A solid educational share focusing on why weak pseudorandom number generators can be dangerous. The linked video walks through reversing common PRNGs, reconstructing internal state from outputs, and real-world demos tied to games and applications. Perfect for beginners interested in reverse engineering, algorithm behavior, and security fundamentals - and a good reminder that "random" often isn't as random as people think.

This is my 1000th Post! - by [mention=625431]

A wholesome milestone post from a long-time member returning to the forum after a break. Peble hits 1,000 posts and reflects on over a decade of learning, confidence, and community built through HF. A simple reminder that many of us grew up here — and we keep coming back because the place still feels like home.

My friend was trying to be extorted over telegram. How can I keep him calm? - by [mention=839449]

A tense situation unfolds as a member’s friend gets shaken down by a Telegram scammer demanding $3,000 under threats of doxxing. The OP breaks down how the scammer likely gathered info, why ignoring them is usually the right call, and why police don’t act on anonymous claims without evidence. A sobering thread but a valuable one — especially for anyone who’s ever wandered too deep into shady Telegram circles.

How to be consistent at learning to code? - by [mention=170428]

A new coder struggles with motivation, consistency, and forgetting what they learn after short breaks a problem many beginners can relate to. Despite the controversial goal of building a RAT, the thread sparks a bigger discussion about coding discipline, study habits, and how to stay engaged long enough to actually improve. A nice slice of HF’s classic “newbie dev journey.”

[Legends] This Is How I Unclog My Drain No Plumber, No Big Costs, No Stress! - by [mention=5568595]

An unexpectedly legendary DIY guide drops as OP explains in detail - how to unclog a drain using hydrochloric acid, safety gear, custom hoses, pressure flushing, and pure determination. Complete with images, step-by-step breakdowns, and even a final demo video. One of the most entertainingly thorough household tech guides HF has seen in a while.

How to setup a RAT with Pics [TUTORIAL] - by [mention=5711798]

A thread showcasing a visual setup walkthrough for QuasarRAT though these days, it mostly serves as a glimpse into how people package and configure remote-admin tooling. Screenshots, configs, VPN setups, and more.

WHAT ARE LOGS AND HOW TO USE THEM - by [mention=5646157]

This thread dives into what “logs” are in the context of stealer malware – the dumped browser passwords, cookies, sessions, wallets, and more that end up being traded around. OP breaks down the kinds of data you’ll typically find, which countries are considered “high value,” and how people think about monetizing that info. As you’d expect, it’s the kind of topic that lives deep in the grey/illegal zone, and it’s a good reminder that chasing quick money with stolen data comes with serious legal and security risks attached.

Best OS for local LLM? - by [mention=4931690]

[mention=4931690] throws out a simple question that turned into a solid tech discussion: what’s the best OS for running local LLMs? Linux distros, Windows, macOS with Apple Silicon – everything gets compared. People weigh in with their setups, performance, driver quirks, VRAM needs, and general comfort for dev work. If you’re thinking about building a box (or repurposing a rig) for local AI, this thread is a nice snapshot of what the community is actually using and why.

[Quantum] I gave AI a budget to find and purchase the best Black Friday deals - by [mention=5655318]

In this one, I hand a chunk of PayPal balance to an AI-powered browser agent and lets it go wild on Black Friday. The AI scans major stores, tracks price history, avoids fake discounts, stacks coupons, and auto-checks out a full shopping list: action cam, helmet intercoms, smart home gear, robot vacuum, air fryer, plus accessories. Final score? Roughly €985 “saved” while I just watched. It’s a fun look at what happens when you combine real money, real stores, and a cold, emotionless optimizer that refuses to fall for marketing tricks.

Whats a Random Skill You Picked Up That Ended Up Helping You Later? - by [mention=5711781]

[mention=5711781] opens up a wholesome reflection thread about “accidental” skills – the random things you learn from a hobby, a side task, or boredom that later turn out to be surprisingly useful. They share how casually learning Canva evolved into a money-saving, small-gig-generating skill for social media graphics. From there, members jump in with their own stories: odd talents that helped them land jobs, start side hustles, solve real-life problems, or just make day-to-day life smoother. It’s one of those threads that makes you rethink all the little things you’ve picked up along the way.

What did you do for Thanksgiving? - by [mention=1871421]

Even though OP isn’t from the US, they're craving turkey and the cozy family vibe, so they ask the community how they spent Thanksgiving. The thread turns into a chill, feel-good roundup of how members celebrated (or didn’t): family dinners, time off work and solo chill days. It's a nice little snapshot of how different people on HF mark the holiday, whether they're in the States or just vibing with the idea of Thanksgiving from afar.

Recently we introduced a brand-new section to the HF News. This section will grow over time to more things, but for now we are just going to be doing Song of the week. We are open to what more we could bring to the section from your suggestions, but as a start, we feel adding the song of the week will be a great start for the section and lead the way forward for more things in the future.

Now we know some of you may question what the song of the week is all about, and we have thought of what a great answer. We feel like the song of the week should be a meaningful song that goes deeper than just general music and has meaning to it all. Granted, we may have a little fun with it sometimes. (Yes, we will have a Halloween version and Christmas version too.) But we want to keep it at a level where we have found the song has a true message behind it all and not just something that everyone will just see as another song that is just a bit catchy or got a good few beats to it. We hope this helps those with that question and if anyone has anything that they wish to ask, please feel free to add them below. We are more than happy to give the reason behind it.

This weeks Song Of The Week:

Big thank you to [mention=4931690] For this weeks submittion.

HF Wiki Returns

The official HF Wiki is returning with a brand new team and a brand new line of ideas. Many years ago, the project was sadly left alone, and it seemed like the project was at its end of life, but thankfully recently I have been working with [mention=1] to bring the site back to life. As the leader behind the official HF News team, I thought it would only be right to bring back the wiki with the team I have managed to put together, and I am happy to announce that we are now working hard to bring the official back to the community.

What is the HF Wiki?

Now, for some of our newer members, you may not even know about the previous work done on the site, but the HF wiki is an official site that is part of Hack Forums in its own special way. It is where many events and members & groups get noted down to go down in history for everyone to have archived online from the main page you are reading this thread on today. While some of the older members may remember the site and seeing that it sadly just got left behind due to no one being able to maintain the project.

So what is the Hack Forums Wiki I hear you asking? Well, it's a Wikipedia of Hack Forums, and it's the home to a lot of information about the sites past and present day. The Wikipedia includes a collection of biographies of members on the site, all the way to award information. The Wiki is a place where members new and old can find out more about a certain user, read up on in-depth analysis of popular tools and users on the forum, or even just get some clarification on a specific hacking term that they may not have heard of before.

Where to find the HF Wiki

The Hack Forums Wikipedia isn't really something that has been publicized about for many years these days, but I am hoping to change that over time and with that there are a few different ways to access the Wikipedia page. The first would be to head over to the website directly via the domain https://wiki.hackforums.net/ but you can also access this via the menu button on HF itself via the website's navigation bar.

Here is a little guide to find it from the navigation bar:

How to Contribute

The Hack Forums Wikipedia is currently being worked on daily to bring it up to the modern day, but we don't have all the information known left and right and this is where the community comes into play. We know many members in the past have contributed to the site by adding their very own information to the site. While the information is moderated, it will be reviewed and then pushed to the site once approved, and I am happy to say that moving forward this will remain the same and I can not wait to see what everyone has to offer. The site is going to still allow everyone who wishes to contribute as they please, and we are more than happy to see even a single line added to something. Or even something that corrects something that may be a little outdated.

To contribute to the site, it does need a separate account that isn't directly linked to the main Hack Forums site. You will need to have a Wiki account. With this account, this will allow members to contribute to their hearts galore and to make an account it only takes seconds. Once you have an account and are logged in, you can freely edit any page you would like.

Special Thanks

With the return of the Hack Forums Wikipedia I just want to add a special thanks section to the thread as without a little help from this lot we wouldnt have the project back up and running.

[mention=1]

Without you, I wouldn't have been able to have this opportunity to take on this role and help out so much. You have also helped me with getting everything back up and running, taking a few hours out of your day when you could be working on something for the main site. You have sorted out all the errors with the SQL to allow us to get the site back to a place where we can edit and update everything. I really cant thank you enough. You are a great sysadmin, admin, and person and I know giving the team the chance to make the Hack Forums Wiki great again is something we can all work well together with. Once again thank you for everything so far and everything to come.

[mention=574588]

I always thought you had left HF, but recently you came back, and you have returned with a bang. You have been helping gather a load of information for the wiki and so much more. You were a great member of the Wiki team many years ago and I cant wait for the future working with you in the team with us all. Thank you for everything so far and let's bring the wiki back to the modern day we are in today together.

[mention=57618]

You offered a home for my project when I didn't even have anything really in place, but you took that risk and gave me that chance and homed the team when you didn't even know if we would get anywhere with it. You really are a great guy and helped us get so far and I cant thank you enough for the chance you gave me and the team. I cant wait to see the great ideas you have for the wiki moving forward.

I would like to also add that the members of the Wiki team who have come from the HF news team have to be on the special thanks list, as I know they may just be getting to grips with the site and how it works, but I know once they get an understanding of how the site works, they will be making some great additions to the site and making sure the site is well maintained with a load of new information going forward. You lot are the best!
